Executive book editor, film/television producer and author Brendan Deneen knows the answers. As head of Macmillan Entertainment, the book-to-film division of Macmillan Publishing, he\'s made shepherding books to screen - and the other way around - his career. From working for unique personalities like Harvey Weinstein and Scott Rudin to developing ideas from scratch and turning them, not only into novels, but also feature films and TV shows, Brendan will tell us how books are acquired by major publishing companies, and then optioned and adapted by Hollywood. Brendan brings a comprehensive perspective to his workshop, having worked as an agent, an editor, and a development and production movie executive. His expertise includes working at the William Morris Agency, Scott Rudin Productions, Miramax Films, Dimension Films, The Weinstein Company, and at Macmillan Publishers, as well as his work as a novelist and comic book writer. Brendan Deneen is the author of the graphic novels FLASH GORDON: THE MERCY WARS and THE ISLAND OF MISFIT TOYS, among others, as well as the novel THE NINTH CIRCLE and the upcoming novels ANT-MAN: BEGINNINGS, UNDERHILL, and THE CHRYSALIS. By day, he runs the film/TV division at Macmillan Publishers, with projects set up at MGM (with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson attached to star), Warner Brothers (with Bradley Cooper attached to star), Legendary Pictures, CBS Television, The Weinstein Company, and many more.
