“From Girlhood to Womanhood: Coming Of Age in Our Cultures” welcomes girls and women of all ages, all cultures, all faiths to share & learn.

About this event

The Women's Multicultural Alliance welcomes all those who want to learn more about women from various cultures and faith traditions. We hope this will be a place of sharing, discovery, and meaningful conversation. The Women's Multicultural Alliance provides a safe space for women of all backgrounds to come together to share across perceived boundaries to discover what unites us, what concerns we share, what hopes we have for a peaceful future.

We welcome women of all ages and cultures to join us to hear the coming of age stories from our panelists and to share their own stories in breakout groups. We will look at messages we received as we moved into womanhood about our roles, our behaviors, standards of beauty, share our own rites of passage and other stories related to moving from girlhood to womanhood in our cultures and traditions.

Please note that we ask several registration questions related to age, ethnicity, race and religion in order to create Breakout Groups that are as diverse as possible. We will not share this info with other participants and it will be used only to create our Breakout Groups. Thank you for participating!
