First Annual Summer Shred-Fest

IRVINGTON, N.J., June 16, 2015 – Novus Equities LLC will be hosting its First Annual Summer Shred-Fest, a mobile on-site document shredding program, on Friday, June 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the 40 & 50 Union Avenue Medical/Professional Campus in Irvington. Residential, office and medical office documents will be safely and securely destroyed by Safe Shredding of Roseland, N.J. A maximum of five printer-paper-sized storage boxes will be accepted per person. The on-site shredding service is being held during a Friday lunch period to allow area residents a chance to discard documents bearing sensitive personal information, such as tax returns, personal papers, outdated bills, credit card offers and cancelled checks. A closed-circuit television screen allows participants to observe their documents being shredded as an extra safeguard. Staples, rubber bands and paper clips need not be removed. According to Safe Shredding, the average household discards more than 13,000 separate pieces of paper each year, the majority of which is “junk mail” containing personal information. “Despite the trend toward a ‘paperless society,’ shred days have become increasingly popular over the past few years due in large part to sophisticated modern-day identity theft measures,” said Scott Seale, a principal at Novus Equities, based in Jersey City. “Shred-Fest is being provided as a community service to promote the safe, fast destruction of documents while encouraging sound, secure recycling measures.” The shredding will take place at the medical/professional campus’ spacious, on-site private parking lot, conveniently located behind the 40 and 50 Union Ave., Irvington, office buildings.
