Dorthaan’s Place, NJPAC’s jazz brunch series at NICO Kitchen + Bar, welcomes acclaimed trombonist, seashellist and composer Steve Turre. One of the world\'s preeminent jazz innovators, Turre is known worldwide for melding the energy of Latin music with the sophistication of contemporary jazz. On his most recent CD, Woody’s Delight, Turre pays tribute to his mentor and former boss, trumpet great Woody Shaw. This intimate jazz brunch at NICO Kitchen + Bar is curated and hosted by WBGO programmer Dorthaan Kirk, Newark\'s \"First Lady of Jazz.\" There are two performances on January 19: 11:30 am and 1:30 pm. There is a brunch at 11 am and 1 pm before each show.
