Daisy Castro’s Hot Club, a tribute to Stephane Grappelli and the Hot Club of France
Featuring: Sara L’Abriola, Pierre "KAMLO" Barré, Ari Folman-Cohen, Josh Kaye
In 1934, Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli created their band, “The Hot Club of France”. Although this is a festival celebrating the music of Django, it would not be complete without paying homage to the great, Stephane Grappelli. Very few violin players have mastered the techniques of Grappelli while still developing their own sound, like Daisy Castro. She is a unique and incredibly powerful voice in the violin world today. Daisy will be backed up by four very special musicians. 19 year old, Sara L’Abriola on guitar, one of the leaders of the Django Reinhardt style, and a key figure in the New York scene, Ari Folman-Cohen on bass, and Josh Kaye on rhythm guitar. These four compose one of the finest rhythm sections on earth. Special guest Kamlo! This show cannot be missed!
