SOMA Cross-Cultural Works has once again partnered with the Township of Maplewood to host the annual Diwali Fest NJ, a unique multicultural celebration of Diwali (Festival of lights) and South Asian arts and culture for the whole community.

There's plenty to do for kids at Diwali Fest NJ.

Looking for a fun activity for your crafty kiddo? Come to Diwali Fest and make your own Rangoli, which are traditional geometric designs intended to evoke the divine feminine and invite goodness and prosperity to your household.

At the festival, kids will be able to create their own mini Diya (Diwali Lamp) out of clay and decorate it with beads and other knickknacks.

Vinay Desai will be playing Santoor at Diwali Fest NJ!
Vinay is trained in Hindustani classic music, vocal/harmonium and tabla in the US and in India.

Please remember to carry cash as some of the vendors at the event may not accept electronic forms of payment. Bring your picnic blankets and chairs and be prepared to ENJOY!!!
