C.A.F.E. XIII Opening Reception at Gallery 1978

C.A.F.E. XIII September 12th - October 12th, 2015 Opening Reception, Saturday September 12th, 2-5pm Closing Reception, Saturday October 12th, 2-5pm Contemporary Artists Forum is a group of serious artists from diverse backgrounds, who meet to discuss and critique their work in a supportive atmosphere. C.A.F.E. XIII, their current exhibition, celebrates the artists and the work that has evolved from their positive criticism. The work in this year\'s show ranges from purely abstract sculpture to representational painting in oils to collage, prints, multi-media constructions and photography. Several of the artists have shown widely in New Jersey and New York, others have completed murals, commissions and outdoor installations. \"This exhibition is an eclectic mix of styles, genres, materials and methods\" said Larry Dell, current CAF facilitator who leads the group. \"Many of the artists in the group have been creating high-level work for decades and the work they are presenting represents the culmination of deep thought about subject, society and the meaning and purpose of art.\" CAF members participating in the show are Eric Beckerich, Cynthia Weiss, Michael Friedman, Denise Hardie, B.John Kaufman, Larry Dell, Patricia Toltl, Mary Jean Canziani and Vicki Parker, as well as select former members of the group.
