Art & Music Reception/Sheila Sugerman&Mary Babiarz

Art & Music Reception Join us for a celebration of our January exhibit by local artist Sheila Sugerman. Sheila has exhibited widely at galleries and libraries throughout New Jersey, and has been awarded numerous awards and honors. Her works reflect her love of pastels. Says Sheila, “Pastels are very versatile: depending on the artist’s technique, the painting can have a bold look or a very delicate effect. It can look like a watercolor or an oil painting. For me, being able to handle the medium with my fingers directly gives me a wonderful tactile feeling. I am continually finding more exciting and challenging problems to solve and develop with this wonderful medium! “ Music will be provided by Maplewoodian Mary Babiarz. Mary plays violin, viola and piano. She is a member of the Paper Mill Playhouse Orchestra and currently performs with the Johnny Mathis Orchestra, the NJ State Opera Orchestra, the Choral Art Society of NJ and the Plainfield Symphony.
