Maplewood Library presents a month of special programs commemorating the World War I Centennial and honoring our veterans and active military. Art & Music Reception Our November art exhibit is the photography of Maplewoodian Ben Lowy, an award-winning photographer who covers major stories worldwide. His images of Iraq are some of the most iconic of the 21st Century. His image from Hurricane Sandy was the first iPhone photo to grace the cover of Time magazine. Ben started as a conflict photographer, covering Iraq and Afghanistan, is one of the early adopters of camera phone photography and tests new technologies to push the boundaries of photography. www.benlowy.com A reception with live music will feature the Maplewood Community Music Trombone Quartet playing military marches, patriotic medlies and War years numbers. Saturday, November 15 1:00 pm at Main Library Free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
