Executive Assistant Job Description

New Eyes is seeking an Executive Assistant to work directly for the Executive Director. The Executive Assistant role, a full-time position, will be a key administrative position responsible for supporting the ED and New Eyes’ operations. Under the general direction and with minimal supervision, the candidate will serve in a wide variety of technical and administrative details and perform various highly independent, challenging duties which support the ED and New Eyes’ goals, programs and objectives. This role requires great organizational skills, attention to detail, strategic thinking, time management and the ability to effectively prioritize multiple concurrent responsibilities. Critical qualities also include exceptional written and oral communication, critical thinking, teamwork, good judgment and professional conduct.

This job will necessitate a minimum of two days in office and remote work.

  • Provide broad array of administrative support to ED.
  • Perform special projects and related duties as assigned, including research assignments and assisting in fundraising initiatives.
  • Independently compose, prepare, and assemble materials such as communication updates, reports and blog posts.
  • Assist with social media content creation and advise on best practices.
  • Assist with grant research, applications and reports.
  • Become proficient in New Eyes’ proprietary software system providing new eyeglasses to low-income U.S. residents.
  • Manage New Eyes’ eBay store including listing new items, fulfilling orders, editing and repricing items as needed.
  • Support the Board of Trustees as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • · Excellent research, writing and verbal communication skills
  • Proven organization ability, attention to detail, and ability to set own priorities and manage to deadlines
  • · Problem-solving, decision-making abilities
  • · Able to learn and navigate a variety of web-based tools (e.g. Mailchimp, Canva, Squarespace, Google AdWords, etc.)
  • · Tech savvy: excellent computer skills and high proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn).
  • · Ability to initiate/generate ideas and work independently
  • · Strong interpersonal skills and discretion with confidential information
