 Hahaha

Think of it as an add-on bonus to your MOL account.  And - the "Communities" link at the top of the page will give you quick access to your JamieSpace.  So, it's basically the same platform.  grin

It's also free to use at the moment - though you are able to chip in to support it if you wish.

You can set up a JamieSpace in under a minute with just login with your MOL account:

https://accounts.jamiespace.com/create-jamiespace

This also show a first post - which many of you already know how to do.  smile

So far I've been getting great feedback.

A JamieSpace is currently free to use - it's a great space to share photos and recipes with those you're gathering with today!  Give it a try:

You may recognize the voiceover for this promo:

JamieSpace has been getting a little traction lately - please try one out - I'd love your feedback!

Curious typo in the caption above,

Seriously, am trying to think how I can best use my JamieSpace. Thank you.

I like to think of it as your "go to" space for notes and ideas you don't want to forget.

Or info that you may want to refer back to later.

Here's a few things I have in my space with Simone.

- A simple shopping list thread - any time we think of something we just add it to that thread. We have one for food and one for Home depot.

- Recipes - nice to have them handy.

- Vaccination cards - we have them scanned and pinned to the top of our space.

- Purchases - we've had several larger items to purchase lately - like a washer/dryer for example. It's nice to use the space for research. Then after purchasing you can add the receipt, manual and any warranty info in the thread.

- How to videos - we recently took up golf during the pandemic, so we have a thread were we embed lessons we like.

- Vacations - it's nice to have a space for planning.  Plan you itinerary and store dates, along with hotel, plane and car reservations.

- Recurring tasks - we have a pool, so I keep a log of when we opened, any issues during the season, any new equipment and when we closed.

-------------------------------

I have a personal space for what I need to do in regards to tweaking and improving the platform. In the past I've used a notebook or a word document. For me - this space is better structured.

-------------------------------

For the Maplewoodstock Committee we have a space. I feel that it's good for more important info that we need to access later, instead of getting lost in email chains. Also, it would be helpful if someone new joined, they would have access to everything as well, whereas with emails only - this would be impossible.

---------------------------------

Overall, categories make a difference.  Something that you don't have with email, texting and chat apps.

---------------------------------

Once you start one and get in the habit of using it - you'll be hooked.  I really don't know of a good alternative to what I'm using them for at the moment.

Here's a sample site that I'm putting together to possibly give people some ideas of how to use one:

https://smith1.jamiespace.com/forums

Any suggestions for the type of info that you easily misplace and would be helpful to have that "go to" space for it?

And here's another promo:

It only take a minute!  Just login with your MOL account.

https://accounts.jamiespace.com/create-jamiespace

Main site: https://www.jamiespace.com

I like it to keep track of lists - here's a few ideas of things you may like to keep track of in your personal online space:

  • To-do list: We ALL need this one!
  • Packing list: There's always one item we forget. Create a list so that you're ready next time!
  • Goals list: Always best to write them down!
  • Streaming list: We get ton of suggestions on what to watch from friends and family, store them in your space!
  • Reading list: See a book online or at the bookstore - and it your reading thread.
  • Home repairs list: pull it up on your phone when you’re at Home Depot and grab everything you need.
  • Grocery list: Run out of something - add it here.
  • Where to eat list: Have local restaurants or in NYC that you've been meaning to try - start a thread in your space.

Again - any and all feedback is very helpful!

Once you set one up - you're always one click away from you space on Maplewood Online.  Just click on the 'communities' list at the top of the site and your JamieSpace will appears there as well!

It's take a little to get in the habit, but once you do I think you'll find it really useful.  You know how you had to get in the habit of leaving your car keys in the same place.  Well, JamieSpace is like that for your thoughts and ideas.

Any thoughts on what it is about JamieSpace you like or may need it for - do you understand the concept?  We have a very brief survey online.  And it's FREE to try out.  We're still in Beta form!

TIA!

A cool feature for your space:

OK, you’ve asked for feedback. Hopefully a public response is welcomed because I very much value MOL and hope that JamieSpace is successful!

How is JamieSpace different than the Notes app on my iPhone/iPad that I use all the time to save grocery lists, a packing list, a to-do list and a standing Home Depot list? I can share these lists if I want.

Between Notes and Calendar, which I can share too, I’m not getting what the added utility of a JamieSpace is.

Thanks for the question!  Notes is good for quick lists, I use notes every now and then as well - My example you quoted just showed lists as an example - I added a few more ideas on this page:

https://jamiespace.com/why/

With a JamieSpace - I like the organization with Category - Subject - Comment.  In notes - you might keep editing one note whereas I prefer adding new comments and having the history of when my new comments were added.

I was trying to view my Notes at Icloud.com - is this where you would be able to access your notes on desktop?  Unfortunately, icloud wasn't able to connect to their server at the moment.  Just wanted to test some things.  After I'm able to figure out how to connect, I may have better feedback.

If you share the space with someone else - like with MOL - it's really easy to see what you've read, unread or partially read at a glance.

One person recently preferred a JamieSpace as an alternative for their group (of around 20 people) who are primarily texting.  It was hard to follow the discussions.  The calendar was a bonus to keep track of their upcoming events as well.

I'd be happy to help anyone set up their space.  I've done this for a few people and it's been very helpful on both sides.

I like the ability to edit the colors, header, icon it personalizes it more for me.

Here's another example in my personal space with Simone.  We recently had a branch fall on our garage.  So I posted some pics, added estimates and documented the whole claim in our "Around the House" category.

(Ironic/ timely that as I’m reading your last note about the oak tree branch & repairs, underneath is the Clayton Constructions & Demolition ad!! smile)

Shouldn't that be in the "Around the Garage" category?

Still cranking away at this!  We have over 100 spaces started!

If you haven't tried starting one - you can do so here:

https://accounts.jamiespace.com/create-jamiespace

I could use some testers on this function - let me know if it was easy to do:

https://jamiespace.com/mobile/

If you created a space and forgot about it - you can go here to find it:

https://accounts.jamiespace.com/communities/my_community

Your MOL account is also a JamieSpace account.

Thanks again!

Also, if there anyone who's part of a local group or committee that is searching for a solution for communication and collaboration - let me know I'd be happy to Zoom with you to show you how it all works.

It's a great alternate for groups where texting & email is predominant.  It's always tricky to add someone to a text chain and a pain to scroll through to find the info you're looking for.

Email is ok, but again anyone new to the group will not have access to the history of prior messages.

It's also great for those who are tired of FB and want an alternative that is free from distractions, algorithms and your info isn't used by Mr. Zuckerberg.

You're my customer, not the product.  Free to use - we're in our beta phase and I'm currently working with a startup accelerator to help move things forward with it.

https://www.jamiespace.com

Recently a few people have told me their JamieSpace stories which has been super encouraging.

The trickiest thing is that there's not one single bullet use for it.  So, it makes it really hard to promote.  I have heard of various uses for it - from committees to families to projects to individuals

For the most part I see it as an online space for the important info you don't want to get lost in email and text chains.  Info that you don't want to share with the world on social media.  It's a personal space that's there when you need it from any device.

When I started MOL - town sites were informational - no interactivity, so creating an online space to connect with people was important. Now that things have turned hyperactive - JamieSpace is an online space free of distractions with a purpose.

And it's takes less then a minute to set up!

https://www.jamiespace.com

It's free to use - my next tagline might be - Use it, Love it, Support it!
