I don't think so. Transportation systems like NJ Transit are operating as usual. And the airports are managed by the Port Authority, with New York State.
it's non-essential services that are affected. Not major/mass transportation. Think public pools, park services,

I wouldn't worry about public pools unless they are run by the state.
Not to worry little people.
We may not get MVC services or access state recreation areas. But, that what is important to state government is open for business.
The state governmental enforcement crew continues their work - state police, state park police, etc. Our NJ state money collection units will be patrolling our state highways. The park police will be working to ensure that the little people, unlike Christie and family, cannot access their state parks.
Your NJ payrolls will continue to deduct NJ state taxes. Our state highways will continue tolling us their fees.
You vote crap in then crap is what you get.

I have a flight out of EWR tomorrow evening. Does anyone know whether the state shutdown in any way effect the airport?
