Where Can I Donate Books?

I have several boxes of books I need to get rid of before moving. The library has stopped collecting books for their sale until "sometime in the Fall." Anyone know of another place I could donate them?

(I think it's too many to leave at the train station book swap.)

there a donation bin beside the S.O. Public library

A volunteer tends the book rack at the Maplewood Train Station.    Books are read by commuters.

Books are best left inboxes on floor next to book rack.

The Goodwill Express Center on Morris Turnpike in Springfield, on the side near Bed, Bath, Beyond takes books and just about everything else other than children's toys.  They have a list of what you can donate and not, and they will take all books and magazines other than textbooks that are market up and encyclopedias.  You drive up, the very pleasant staff can help you move boxes from your car, and provide a receipt.  http://www.nj.com/suburbannews/index.ssf/2012/05/goodwill_opens_first_nj_donati.html

I believe the OLS food pantry is now accepting children's books to give to the families that visit this food pantry from M/SO and surrounding towns. I am not sure about adult books, but perhaps someone else knows that. Donations for the food pantry can be left inside the side door of Our Lady of Sorrows (Prospect Street, South Orange.)

Thanks all. At the suggestion of a neighbor, we contacted on of the veterans’ groups. They’ll pick them up from our home on Friday.
