We are moving to Town!

NJ STRAYS is super super excited about having a new space in Maplewood. For those that do not know about our organization, we are a No-Kill Animals Welfare Organization fighting to decrease pet abandonment in North Jersey; we serve the eight counties of the North oh oh We are not a rescue or a shelter, we are a community outreach organization helping directly pet owners in need. Our office will be located at 2202 Millburn Ave. More details to come oh oh Please stop by to say hi and if you are looking to help our local pets do not hesitate in contacting us! We are always looking for volunteers oh oh

Sounds great! I would suggest putting this announcement in Virtual Cafe unless you specifically want to exclude South Orange residents. I would also suggest NOT putting it in Pets & Animals because a lot of people block that thread.

Thank you so much!!! Great advice!!!

Will you be helping with the TNvR  program or the management of feral cat colonies in town?

I removed the duplicate thread from Virtual Cafe - out of 33,000+ users - only 20 have this category blocked.  This category makes the most sense.  Thanks for alerting usp to the organization - feel free to post updates here.

Hello Joan, NJ STRAYS currently have three specific projects and TNVR is not one of them. We offer 1. Lost Pet Recovery Assistance from free advice to trapping and recovery; 2. Barncat and outdoor cat relocation; 3. Owner surrender prevention (vet assistance, pet food donation, temporary fostering and free behavioral training) We decided to support our partners that already provide TNVR assistance instead. We have partnered with CPAW NJ a local organization involved in TNVR and we will work together in helping the community and educating the public about community cats as much as we can. We have traps available for the public, classes, and some limited funds for this program. Our big project for cats is our Barn Cat Relocation, you can find details here: https://www.care2.com/greenliving/relocation-is-sometimes-the-last-resort-for-unwanted-community-cats.html. We will be happy to partner with others to achieve a fair legislation that can protect our companion animals but also secures the lives of our stray cats.
