Vegetarian Italian dining options (dinner)

Could someone recommend a good italian restaurant for dinner in one of our neighboring towns within a 10 mile radius from here? It is for my mom's birthday (my parents are vegetarian, so a place with quite a few vegetarian options would be great). Thanks!

Offhand, Basilico in Millburn comes to mind. They have meat/fish dishes, but also have some interesting vegetarian ones - pasta with pesto (if you ask, they will make it the traditional way with potatoes and green beans in it!), gazpacho, a number of salads (do your parents eat cheese? many of the salads have mozzarella or parmegiano cheese in them) - one of my favorites in the beet salad. I think most of the vegetarian dishes would fall in the pasta category, but you could look at their menu and see what else might work for your parents. I like the side garden room if it isn't too hot a day - very airy and spacious.

I have some food allergies, and they have always been willing to tweak a dish if there was an ingredient in it that I couldn't eat.

Here's a link to their menu: http://basilicomillburn.com/di...

eta: when you say vegetarian, could you clarify if they will eat cheese/eggs/butter? Might make a difference in the recommendations you'll get.

yeah, vegetarian Italian is pretty easy if you include dairy.

Without dairy, it's not so much Italian anymore.

Yes, butter / eggs are OK.

We went to La Pergola in Millburn. Great food with quite a few vegetarian options. Great owner - very friendly. Gave us lots of tips on our planned trip to Tuscany later on in this month and even gave us his family contacts in Tuscany and Cinque Terre in case we need guidance (he is from Sienna).

Thanks.
