I was gonna post this yesterday. Apparently Trump's enthusiasm for infrastructure doesn't include the most important transit project in the country. Wotta surprise.

Trump wants to get his infrastructure deal done and it's probably posturing by him in order to get Schumer's support - make the Gateway Tunnel part of the overall deal.

Politics is not that simple - by the same token, Schumer can get the NJ, NY and CT senators, at the very least, to threaten to withhold support of any Trump deal unless the Obama deal is followed and treated separately from any grand infrastructure deal.

Please let us not pretend that Trump is a good deal maker.
