Trump Jr Getting Divorced to Hide Assets?

So, I am seeing posts on social media that suggest that Dump Jr's divorce may really just be a way to protect assets from the Special Counsel.  Is the fact that the dissolution of Jr's marriage came on the same day as the subpoena of his treasonous families business records a happy coincidence or something more? 

To be fair, it is entirely possible that she filed the papers because he is an insufferable douche.

I’m sure there’s a prenup. If she gets away with half in a quick settlement, it’s a setup and there’s some shady **** going on.

It says she filed an uncontested divorce. She didn’t ask for custody or assets. There may be truth to your theory. Somethings up. 

I got the sense that they have been at odds for some time.  It doesn't mean the timing isn't related to Trump's legal troubles.

She doesn't want her signature on a joint tax return. 

I suspect that being married into the Trump-Kushner crime family is more stressful this days because all of the stupid things that the males in the family do and say is now making headlines.

I don't see how the Divorce is a way to protect assets from the Special Counsel. I assume you mean protect them from viewing by the Special Prosecutor since he wouldn't be seizing those assets or putting a lien on them.

The only way to "file an uncontested divorce" is if the parties have an agreement covering all assets and every other issue and advise the Court of same when they file.

Not necessarily. It can be attached to the Divorce Judgment,at least in NJ, which would make it public but I do not believe that it is a requirement. Of course if a divorced couple gets into a fight about it later it could become public.

Occam's Razor people.  Occam's Razor.  She evidently once called Trump Sr. retarded.  I think she now understands that the apple didn't fall far from the tree and now wants out.  There may be secondary motivations, but I think the primary motivation is that she doesn't want to be married to DJTJ any more.

If Donald Jr. is getting divorced to hide assets then he definitely is a huge @$$hole for putting 5 kids through that.

I am with Tjohn on this.  My guess is the road apple does not fall far from the tree and that Don Jr is as much a whore-hound as his father.  Don Jr has been travelling all over the nation and the world since Daddy started his run, so he has had plenty of single time away from his wife and kids.  Perhaps she is just fed up with him bringing home STDs and body lice?

Wait a minute here.....I just read that Vanessa Trump hired a prominent criminal defense attorney as her divorce counsel.  And this for an "uncontested" divorce where neither party needs to show up in court?????

CRIMINAL DEFENSE attorney. So the divorce itself is amicable/uncontested but she still wants to make sure she doesn't go to jail? Hmmm

We're all on the outside guessing, but maybe she wants some advice about how a criminal case could affect her rights under whatever agreement they've reached in the "amicable" divorce.

Meanwhile, it may be that Don Jr. being a jerk online may have precipitated the divorce.

you don't hire a criminal defense attorney publicly to "get advice". 

Just because this guy handles mainly criminal cases doesn't mean he doesn't do Divorce. So I did a little research and if his firm does Divorce they certainly do not advertise it.

you don’t hire a criminal attorney who does some divorces on the side to handle your high- profile divorce if you are a millionaire. He’s been hired to help with a criminal matter not a divorce.

You can hire any lawyer to do an "uncontested divorce". But there is definitely something else going on.

Assuming there is a pre-nup that covers financial and custody arrangements and that both parties are in agreement, all she needs to do is pay $337 in filing fees and file for an uncontested divorce in New York State.  Neither even has to show up in court.  

Maybe Vanessa is anticipating that Mueller will call her in for questioning, although she could assert spousal privilege as long as the divorce proceedings are going on. 

Presumably there's a LOT of money involved, plus a strange family in a very strange situation.  She would want to have all bases covered, and doesn't so much need divorce counsel if that is pretty well covered in prenup and/or current agreement. ?

that’s what I didn’t understand here. Criminally, they are better protected together than divorced (him anyway). 

Unless he knows he’s going to jail, she knows little and he wants to make sure he gets 1/2 his assets into her hands only so she’s financially protected. That would explain a very quick divorce.

I agree she’s want to cover her bases criminally that’s why she hired a criminal attorney. What I was arguing was that certainly would not hire a criminal attorney to represent her in a divorce. She’s got enough money, she can hire the best in each speciality.

A pre-nup can't cover custody arrangements.

This. They’re obviously in this together.  They planned for this (and probably many various) scenarios. If she ends up going through with the divorce, that will be the icing on the cake. Jr. is a pill.
