Tropical Storm Ana

There is a 50/50 possibility of heavy rain and thunderstorms associated with Tropical Storm Ana reaching our area Monday overnight into Tuesday.  If storms occur (a big "if" at this point) they could produce an inch or two of rain.

It is highly unlikely (less than one in ten chance) that the storm itself will still be severe, or that it will pass nearby.  We would be experiencing edge effects only.

This is a slow-moving storm, with a clear track, so pay attention to the National Weather Service and you will get all the details you need.  This is not a storm to be too worried about unless you are on the South or North Carolina coast right now.

My yard and garden could use a good soaking rain.

I was looking at the story in the Star-Ledger this morning about the pollen tsunami we're going through right now. I wouldn't mind some rain for several hours right about Monday.

It better be a serious rain and not that drizzle stuff we got last week that just created a pollen paste on everything.

That said, I have a bunch of family in Wilmington so I'll be keeping an eye on Ana....

My brother and his family live in Myrtle Beach.  He said that beyond bringing in the patio furniture and securing any other "loose" items outside they were not too concerned.  They have certainly weathered much worse!  I too hope we get a decent amount of rain on Monday into Tuesday to wash away some of the green gunk!
