I reported it. I wish I had gotten her license plate. I was in shock I guess. White woman in her 30s or 40s driving a small grey SUV. It was so strange.

years ago my husband put up a basketball net on a basketball hoop at a school because there wasn't one...a neighbor was mad because he didn't want the kids playing basketball at night so he put a lock on the hoop so the ball couldn't go through the hole...it takes all kinds for sure.

Maybe her child got bullied there, or she's punishing the kid by taking away the ball? Maybe wants to have her own tether ball in her backyard.

Probably some angry mom, whose kid got hit in the head with it during recess!

I was wondering if it could be someone who considers tetherball excessively dangerous? Such an odd thing to do.

Just asked my fifth grader and she said there hasn't been a ball on that pole since she's been there--could it just have gone up while the 5th graders were at Camp Mason?

Is it possible she brought her own rope and ball and then took it down when she was done?

It's been up a few days. She also came to the park 15 minutes earlier, a kid was playing with it - she spoke to him - said "how cute" to him (very odd). Then got in her car and left. She used scissors... Doesn't seem legit to me. She stole it.

Hope she's not a serial ball cutter.

Ridski, I'm not so sure about this. Tom has a very deadpan and ironic sense of humor, although sometimes he is so subtle that he misses his own joke.
