Thunderstorms possible Wed June 3

So there's a pretty good chance that a line of thunderstorms will move through the area tomorrow afternoon. There is the potential that the storms could be severe, with heavy rain and gusty wind. The front will move in fairly fast so pay attention to the weather if you are out and about. And wear a mask if you cannot be 6+ feet away from other people.

Picture shows one model's projection of the storms mid-afternoon tomorrow, but this would be a rapidly developing system so real-time awareness is the best plan.

This is separate from the thing that nailed us in the middle of the night?

This morning, Wed June 3, the Storm Prediction Center of the NWS in Norman Ok has the entire area at an enhanced risk for severe thunderstorms this afternoon.

Thunderstorms are likely this afternoon or evening as a rapidly moving front comes through. The storms may be severe, with gusty winds, heavy rain, and even a slight possibility of hail. We cannot rule out a tornado within this system, although the likelyhood is very low.

An enhanced risk means that storms are likely with a few intense storms within the system. This will be a fast-moving system arriving midafternoon, after 2 pm, so if you are going to be out please keep an eye on the weather. The storms will also pass quickly, although we could still see up to 2 inches of rain in a severe storm.

Yes, last night took everyone by surprise.  Even the NWS did not have thunderstorms in the forecast until after the 4pm update.

I checked Accuweather at 11am yesterday and they said there would be an overnight storm.

I think it will rain this afternoon.

South NJ and Philly getting pummeled with lightning

The main weather has apparently missed us to the south, although this rain may continue with some thunder and lightening until about 4:00pm

Here in Ocean County, we had what looked like a hurricane! Torrential rainfall and extremely high winds. It was short lived, but I expect high storm  Damage reports.

Aside: anyone getting random capitals of late?. Last couple of weeks it seems if I backspace, the next letter is capitalized.

Stong Tstorm last night, 2AM to 3:30 AM.

Was at greenhouse in Hillsborough today.  Strong Tstorm from 11:30AM to about 1 PM.

Now (9 PM) I hear thunder & rain outside (in Mpw).

Another small one, although there are reports of some small hail in it.  Over in half an hour or so.
