This is why we were so screwed last year

"Finally, a Poll Trump Will Like: Clinton Is Even More Unpopular"

"For a president with historically low poll numbers, Donald Trump can at least find solace in this: Hillary Clinton is doing worse.

Trump’s 2016 Democratic rival is viewed favorably by just 39 percent of Americans in the latest Bloomberg National Poll, two points lower than the president. It’s the second-lowest score for Clinton since the poll started tracking her in September 2009.

The former secretary of state has always been a polarizing figure, but this survey shows she’s even lost popularity among those who voted for her in November."

It gets back to the folly of choosing a candidate just because it is his/her turn.

Isn't it time that we move on?

Doesn't this happen to the loser (of the Electoral College) in every election?  I can't imagine that McCain was viewed as favorably by Republicans after he lost to Barack Obama as he was before.  In this case, the fact that HRC's defeat precipitated a global calamity is probably particularly damaging to her favorability rating.

Seriously.

Benghazi!

How about the folly of choosing an incompetent (probably unstable) radical just to stick it to America?

"We're going to repeal and replace O'Care on Day 1!"

HRC was never as "lovable" as many of our leaders. She's a strong Wellesley woman. All business. Very assertive. Very ambitious. Also very competent. Very smart. We chose this guy instead. We're a stupid people.

1. Hahaha

2. Yes

We'll never know how popular she would be right now if she had been elected President.

Never forget the child porn ring HRC ran out of a pizza joint. Pizza! My fave food! How dare she sully it.

This would have been my point. She's not the President.

The Democrats ran a candidate who did not appeal or excite those the Democrats needed to attract. That is the only reason Trump is now President. Those who do not heed the lessons of the past are doomed to repeat them. (Yes English lit teacher, I know that is not the exact phrase in its original form)

Er, no. Trump is president in part because of Hillary, but mostly because Republicans overwhelmingly voted for him. They couldn't bear to pull the lever for a moderate Democrat.

Trump is President because of the Democrats who went to the polls to vote for Obama but did not go to the polls at all this time because they found the choice given to them unappealing.

[edited for clarity]

63 million people voted for Trump. At some point Republicans need to be held accountable for their choice.

100% Clinton lost the election rather than Trump won it.

I wish she had run a better campaign. But the Republicans chose Trump because he largely represents their current values. And they stuck with him through the campaign.

Wait, I thought 60 million voted for Trump and 63 million voted for Clinton. The people did speak.

Its a state by state election. Clinton did not trail Obama by much nationwide but trailed him by the most in the states that flipped the election - the midwest.

Americans don't like losers

That bears repeating, over and over. The voters chose Clinton.

I think that is part of the reason that Trump is so insecure in his election that he has to keep talking about it and attacking Hillary.

I'm never comfortable with simple, glib explanations....

Yes.  We have a President that was appointed by the Electoral College not as opposed to elected in a democratic election. Most American elections are democratic insomuch as the person who gets the most votes wins.  This one was not.

We need to change the Constitution to make all American elections democratic elections.  I realize that, at the moment, this is an impossibility but, for the long term viability of our nation, this needs to happen.
