When needs must, any hollow will do as a nest.
In outback Western Australia, a zebra finch has been spotted using the (ahem) butt end of a strung-up dingo carcass as its nesting site.

Here! Replace it with this beauty - the Crimson Rosella, which comes from @joanne's home state of Queensland.
We should donate a copy of What Bird Is That? to the Maplewood Library…I’ll talk with Library_Lady about it.

Also a plug for the South Orange Library which is being renovated!

What a stunning bird!
Possibly Alectoris chukar per my Sibley book

This bird was posted locally. Anyone know what he is?
Sibley says it is introduced from Middle East and occasionally seen throughout eastern North America when released for sport hunting purposes.

It definitely looked exotic. I have to find the post. I thought it was on a Millburn site.
As I accidently deleted the bird bath shots from a few days ago, I found photos from 11/19/15 which came up in my photo memories. Notice the Robin lifeguard.
Although it may be a colder November, apparently the birds still like a dip in the pool.
Apropos nothing, I just came across this wonderful clip:
That bird is such a tease!!

What a bird. I've seen Birds of Paradise but not this particular variety. And hats off to the choreography and vocals!

We’ve named her Natasha.
Is Natasha a falcon? She is elegant.

She is a big ol' Cooper's hawk. It's always a showstopper whenever she comes around.
I'm periodically adding warm water to the bird baths for them to have something to drink. Glad we are getting a break for the next few days.
Early morning in Millburn’s Taylor Park. Maximum zoom on the iPhone’s camera so I didn’t disturb this friggin 747 of a bird. ;-)

Awesome photo. I was getting ready to post a picture but this is too special to replace on the thread title.

Yeah - looks like a warbler. I went through the warbler list and I couldn't find the exact match.
Delving deeper - I feel confident it was a Ruby-crowned Kinglet.
