The Strollers Presents "An Enemy of the People"

The Strollers community theater continues its 87th season with a presentation of Arthur Miller’s adaptation of the classic dramaAn Enemy of the People by Henrik Ibsen. Although the original work was born more than a century ago, its still relevant today—perhaps more so than ever before. The play’s events pit government against press, well-being against economics, and family member against family member, as a doctor who has discovered a potentially dangerous health situation in his town must risk everything to do what he thinks is right. As the play progresses, it raises and examines from all angles the question of what it takes to stand firm in one’s beliefs despite the objections of others.

An Enemy of the People will be presented for two weekends at The Burgdorff Center for the Performing Arts, 10 Durand Road in Maplewood: Friday, March 8 and 15 and Saturday, March 9 and 16 at 8:00 pm; and Sunday, March 10 at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students and senior citizens. Visit www.thestrollers.org for information and to purchase tickets, or call 973-761-8453 to reserve tickets.

from Bob Roe:   I'll be there and looking forward to seeing this play.  The issues raised sometimes fit public health work to a T.  The issues raised also fit many other situations.  Ibsen was a great playwright and I think that he also wrote plays with strong women.

Thank you Strollers for putting on a very thought provoking play.  Thank you actors for real good performances.

BUMP--Final weekend 3/15-16!! Don't miss this VERY timely production...
