Pope Francis, Catholics, and Christians in the news worldwide

In Poland, like the US, the Church hierarchy actively worked to facilitate the attacks upon children.
In a report released during the Vatican meeting, Don’t Be Afraid listed 24 Polish bishops who, it said, failed to report priests who had sexually abused minors, letting them stay in ministry and often continue to work with children.

Jeez, Klinker.  Try to be objective one in a while.  The Church did not actively work to facilitate pedophiles even if the unintended consequence of the way they handled pedophiles had that effect.

Sorry but I’m solidly with Klinker on this one.

Especially in cases where known pedeophiles were moved to new parishes, that was pretty active support.

What could be more active support than continuing to supply a place to live, all meals, and a revered job for these pedophilesAnd the greatest bonus/perk of all:  access to a fresh batch of children!!!

I'd call that active support, wouldn't you?

Many medical institutions require a second person be present when a Dr examines privates. Maybe the same should be when a priest does something like last rites:

I wish I could say I was shocked by this.

I read about that in a BBC article earlier in the week. It’s an outstanding program, apparently.

I was serious.

Those getting last rites are often physically helpless and incapable of complaining. They're certainly in no position to complain after death. Its like abusing a 4 month old baby with the realization that the baby will not complain.

For these perverts this is like taking candy from a baby.

“Years ago atheism was an individual phenomenon; today atheism is social, the atheist who once was a curiosity, is now a component part of some of the governments of the world. Once men quarreled because they wanted God worshipped in a certain way; now they quarrel because they do not want God worshipped at all. The wars of religion of the seventeenth century have become the wars against religion of the twentieth century.”

Trump's favorite book may be the Bible, but the book he keeps in his bedside night table is a collection of speeches from Adolph Hitler.

I was serious too.  Its pathetic the way this cycle of abuse goes on and on with no apparent end in sight.  Obviously, there is something VERY wrong with the system.

If what is happening in America is any clue, it may be ending the way it started. Priests raping kids, evangelicals supporting pussy grabbers, loony tune evangelicals supporting Israel because they think doing so will bring about the rapture.....  it would be funny if so many real people weren't getting hurt.

"The wars of religion of the seventeenth century have become the wars against religion of the twentieth century."

Of course the "wars" against religion of the twentieth century are talking "wars."  The old school, real religious wars - between people of so called faith - were and are homicidal and often genocidal affairs.  And it wasn't limited to the 17th century.  The sad truth is that from almost the moment Christianity gained power in the Roman Empire, schisms and blood shed about doctrine erupted.

I know you're serious.

When I made my "serious" comment it was for others who may think I was being snarky.

I'm just quoting the man (for lack of a better term).  If you don't like the phrase, take it up with Twitler.

Selective cherrypicking quotes is so not cool —

Since when is calling someone out on their disgusting behavior "sinking to their level"?

To sink to Trump's level I would have to start sexually assaulting women.

Right.... cherrypicking..... because that quote doesn't describe the man's entire modus operandi?

The man's a pussy grabber, a serial cheater, the kind of guy who would try to set up a three way with a couple of porn stars and then try to sue them if they talked about it.  A scumbag in other words.

I guess he's just your kind of scumbag though, isn't he?

Taking away health care from people who need it is so unchristian --

Jesus said (Matthew 25:40-46):

"Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me",

and to make it even more clear, just in case we misunderstood the first time,

"Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these you did not do for me. Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."

America, on the other hand, is putting them in concentration camps.
