The Bitching Thread

OK. These are the rules:

you can only ***** about something once, no repeats.

And you are encouraged to ***** about as many things as possible, but you only get one turn at ********; but it's OK to edit.

You are allowed to comment about others' ********, unless you are ******** about their ********. If so, you have to add it to your ******** list.

Furthermore, no variables are allowed. You have to be specific.

So, here I go:

There are too many bugs in Maplewood

There is too much poison ivy in Maplewood

My property taxes are too high

In fact the mere thought of Maplewood makes me itch.

Your turn

People drive way above the speed levels on our streets and never get ticketed.
There is so much speeding on my street that Maplewood should put in speed bumps...or a stop sign at every intersection.

Watched as TWO cars drove through a pedestrian walkway while a pedestrian was crossing towards them. A police car was waiting at a stop sign at the same intersection and the cop drove off in the other direction.

People are totally unaware of the huge number of speeding tickets written by the Maplewood PD.

Alex Torpey. 'Nuff Said...

-s.

Complaining about Alex Torpey when the remedy (at election time) is so obvious.

I can't find any GOOD ____________ outside of Brooklyn/NYC. Theres no giant plastic dome over the town, you can also move back if the eateries here don't use enough douche in their cooking.

Are you suggesting this is the only thread that will contain bitching? cheese

Hum. You have introduced a variable, Freeway. I will have to check the rule book.

This is the specialist bitching thread, so if you really want to bitch well, you have to do it here. Anything else is simply not professional.

I am sorry, Freeway, but variables are not allowed. You must modify your bitching entry. An acceptable edit would be to identify all the food and services which are better in Brooklyn. This will potentially make you the bitching thread frontrunner.

People are always parked illegally next to the crosswalks in Maplewood Village. obstructs drivers' view of the pedestrians. very dangerous.

anyone who does it deserves to be *****-slapped.

Hrmmm. Ok ill give it a shot

I cant find any GOOD thai/ethiopian/french/filipino/mexican fusion places outside of brooklyn/nyc. All i want is a GOOD light spread , possibly a chutney, to put on my gluten free/organic/free range/vegan/conflict free / made using solar engery by "artisans" making 10x minimum wage an hour bagels, which i am also having difficult in locating a GOOD bagel baker.

I cant believe people who use a service, then try to figure out how to pay less or get their money back.

People with the sense of entitlement, who make illegal left turns on Maplewood Ave. into parking spaces, right in front of the "No Left Turn" sign! Also those who "create" parking spaces directly in front of Kings! question

I can't believe in every crime thread there is someone who posts "guess its time to start locking our house (or cars)". I'm younger than most posters here and grew up in maplewood in the 80s and 90s before the influx of nycers. We ALWAYS locked all of the cars and the house. Its common sense lock you schitt down.

The DMV. I was just there and the person checking the 6 points yelled in my face because I was bewildered when my US Passport, Irish passport, drivers license, work ID plus utility bill were not enough to verify my identification. She also gave me grief because my US passport didn't have my middle name.

No joke, she nearly made me cry.

This reminds me of Marylago's entry into the "Stupidest Thing I Ever Did" thread last year. She won with a made-up story. But, then again, you can bitch about something that never happened; it is not against the rules. Besides the DMV is verycreative and prolific in their abuse of the people they serve, same as the IRS. So, ceidefields, what did the DMV person want from you that you did not provide her? or did she just want to abuse you once again, so she made you take another day to go visit her?

I was nearly escorted out of the Newark DMV. I got in a shouting match because I was told I needed the envelope my utility bill was mailed in. I asked the woman to show me where this was written. She responded with, she could ask for anything she wanted. Thankfully my husband, who was also applying for a NJ license, had his DMV rep step in and take over my paperwork.

The postal cancellation mark authenticates it.

The envelope?! snake grin) snake grin) snake grin) snake grin)

So Dave who says you didn't pick up the envelope from your neighbor's trash? There's no address on the envelope, only a window. Besides at this point anyone can forge practically anything.

My 80-yr-old client was also abused at the DMV when she tried to get a picture id, so that she could open an investment account. They asked her for bank statements, a marriage certificate from the Township where she was married (church was not good enough) as well as the birth certificate. What do they think an 80-yr-old is trying to do? blow up Freedom Tower? or do they think that she is living in this country as an undocumented alien for eighty years without ever working a day?

Why are NJ residents incapable of putting their shopping carts in a cart corral, even if it's just two or three parking spaces away? Seriously! Go to TJs or Target on a busy day and see carts scattered everywhere, even blocking handicap parking spaces.

Too many people using communication devices (or being otherwise distracted) while driving--their exaggerated self-importance puts all of us at risk!

If you were in Springfield, it was the 9th circle of Hell today.

This is not bitching. Simply stating a fact.

Wrong thread.

Please state facts elsewhere. smile

Time Warner, Comcast or any other Cable-Internet Rip off companies.

The DMV is like that not only in Springfield, but in practically all its offices. I am amazed at what they did to my 80-yr-old client who weights all of about ninety pounds. Anyone would want to protect this lady, instead of braking her down, which they did.

My house doesn't clean itself.

The irony is not lost on me that the only thing that doesn't suck about cleaning my house is my vacuum cleaner. smirk
