About 15 years ago, when our daughter had her Sweet 16 party, we rented the hall at DeHart Park - it was very affordable. Brought our own food in and hired a DJ. Don't know if it is still available with all the new Senior Center activities, but thought I'd mention it.
We did a sweet 16 slumber party at the Embassy suites in Parsippany. It was only 8 girls tho. We got two adjoining suites. The adults in one and the girls in the other. Included pizza, soda, bfast the next day. There was a pool and we could choose a movie. I told the 8 that I only have two rules: leave the room the way you found it and no noise complaints from the front desk. They complied. And they had a blast! Cost: about $600
Here are a few places my son has been invited to for Sweet 16's and b'day parties:
Chill - Montclair
The Suite Spot - Montclair
4 Sixty Four - W. Orange
The American Legion and/or VFW on Prospect in S.O. - across from OLOS
We've had b'day parties for teens at:

My daughter is asking about a sweet 16. Wondering if anyone has any thoughts on how to do a party at a reasonable price: room, dj... there are a number of caterers in town. Worried that a banquet hall kind of thing would be a budget buster.
