Vote by mail

Posting the link to the vote-by-mail application, as I figured most people in this forum plan to vote:

Thanks. I hope the State adopts 100% vote by mail and just sends ballots to every registered voter.

I can't see how they could do anything else. Seems like a no-brainer

Wonder if they’ll still be operating in October/November

Anybody see that New York cancelled the Presidential Primary?

I did see that. I think that was a mistake -- I would have preferred them to keep the primary but move to invest in making voting-by-mail easier. In addition to keeping the primary system fairer, it would have been a good rehearsal for November, and an impetus to fix any current issues around voting restrictions that should be revisited.

I like the idea, but wonder how quickly that could be put in place.  I can't imagine how they could pull off a primary by July. Would it be mail in only or would there be an option to vote in person?   Getting the message out would be tricky in only 2 months. Of all of the cities to try it in, NYC would present the biggest challenge.

But it sure looks like we will be having this conversation around the nation pretty soon.

That was pretty much my thinking -- I'd rather have a disastrous primary, where the results don't actually mean that much in the larger scheme, if it means avoiding a disastrous general. Though since they've made the decision already I guess it's moot. Let's hope they're now devoting all the energy that would have gone into trying to make the primary work into preparing for the general.

Believe they are mailing them out first week of October.
