Judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg Has Died

History will remember her.

Showtime has been playing the film on her life. What an important figure. Ironically Trump put out his SCOTUS picks recently. 


I'm crushed. She deserved to retire at the end of the Obama administration. Or the beginning of Hilary Clinton's.


A beautiful woman. 

I hope that all women stop and reflect upon the gift that she has given us and pause to honor her. 

Then I hope they talk to their mothers, sisters, and daughters about the importance of her contributions.

And then I hope they pick up the phone, the pen and the checkbook and turn out the vote.


I feel like I was just kicked in the groin.  Hard to see how America makes it through all of this.  If the election goes to the SCOTUS it is at best an even split and at worst 5-4 for Trump.

Apparently, Moscow Mitch has guaranteed a vote on an RBG replacement,  whatever that means.

 I’m with you. Perhaps they are reading it as her death being “a gift”?


I'm happy to clarify if I understand what the interpretation was?

Thought maybe it sounded too political but I'm not much of a thoughts and prayers person. 

The last wish of the Notorious RBG was:

"My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new President is installed."

So let's do this.


I've had a few conversations with people that were convinced when they voted or didn't in the last election that I was being an alarmist when I pointed to SCOTUS and suggested the overturn of Roe v Wade. Even my panic over Kavanaugh was met with reservation and now here we are with McConnell pushing for a vote on the next Justice.

Now my FB newsfeed is alive with all caps profanity.

 I think we are. And I'm tired of the "things were much worse back..." reasoning. The country's on fire at one end and drowning in other parts. Trump/McConnell et. al are evil, not political. To support their party is immoral, not political. If the bastards go ahead with a SCOTUS nomination, dems/progressives better be ready for all-out political and rioting-in-the-streets action. So much damage in 4 short years.  

Thanks for the Seinfeld clip a few days ago. Laughs are few and far between these days. Haven't been here very often in Trump era because all I can do is fulminate (eg., this post) rather than converse dispassionately.

Consider Sen. Lindsey O. Graham of South Carolina four years ago: “I want you to use my words against me: If there’s a Republican president in 2016 and a vacancy occurs in the last year of the first term, you can say Lindsey Graham said, ‘Let’s let the next president, whoever it might be, make that nomination.’” 

Consider Graham in 2018: “If an opening comes in the last year of President Trump’s term, and the primary process has started, we’ll wait to the next election.”

Now Graham in May 2020, on filling a vacancy: “That would be the goal.”

I'm not surprised. I expect this of them.

What is disheartening are the self-identified supposedly very religious Christians, like forum member Tierney or evangelicals who continue their support of these in your face hypocrites and liars.

Do they not know their scripture or do they simply go to Church to recite in rote? Yet, they profess such love for their Lord and Savior.

Anybody can claim to be a good christian (or muslim or buddhist for that matter). It's how you live your life that defines what you really are.
