South Mountain Reservation Virtual Plogging Weekend- 6/26, 27, & 28

South Mountain Conservancy's first Virtual Trail Clean-Up Weekend was such a huge success: over 50 bags of trash were collected from our trails! Let's keep that momentum going and get out there again on June 26, 27 and 28! Our trails in the South Mountain Reservation are being used more than ever. And with the increase in foot traffic, we're seeing a lot more trash! Let's do something about it and make an impact on our local trails! Get out on your favorite trail at your convenience on Friday 6/26, Saturday 6/27 or Sunday 6/28 with gloves and a trash bag and pick up any trash you see! PLEASE practice social distancing and wear your facemask during your clean-up! Follow the trail/park rules! Be safe, be smart and have fun! So, what is PLOGGING? Plogging originated over in Sweden and simply means to run and pick up trash! Turn your trail clean-up into an awesome trail run..... If running isn't your speed - don't worry! You can absolutely go out and HIKE and pick up trash! Here at the South Mountain Conservancy, we are all about getting outside in the Reservation and making a difference! So, after your clean-up, share your photos on the Conservancy's website (SOMOCON.org) or Facebook or Meetup Page! If you do post a photo, we'll have some swag giveaways at the end of the weekend: 1. WEIRDEST TRASH ITEM FOUND 2. MOST BAGS OF TRASH COLLECTED OVER THE 3 DAYS ** Please share this event on your social media to help spread the word.**
