Thanks everybody! As of right now we are number 6 out of 200 causes. The top 40 at midnight on June 3rd will win $25,000, so now we just have to keep up the voting every day.

Unfortunately the only way to vote is through Facebook. State farm says that they only do this to ensure that votes are from actual people who are only voting 10 times per day, and that they do not do anything with your Facebook info or post to your page.
We've slipped down to number 8 (out of 200). Please remember to vote EVERY DAY until June 3rd, and ask your friends to do the same. The top 40 Causes will each win the grant, but we need to stay up there!

Worse... we've slipped to 15! The top 40 will each get a $25,000 grant but we can not afford to slip that far because June 3rd is a long way away.

can you change title to spell out full name of SORS? Few know the initials.
You could also post the information (with a new title) in the Maplewood Only section since the SORS also helps out in Maplewood.
Better yet, start a companion thread in Please Help or Virtual Cafe. Spell out the full name of the benefiting organization in the thread title and you stand to gain greater readership which results in broader support from the entire MOL population. There are persons in neighboring and not so neighboring communities who appreciate the benefit of a strong, active volunteer rescue squad being there and would certainly do what they can to help.
Additional publicity ideas to increase vote totals - posted here just in case you haven't thought of all of them:
Cross posting on Maplewood/South Orange specific Facebook pages (ask for members help on the new thread to identify these pages and to help by posting to them if there is a member only requirement) could attract additional concerned current and former residents who would support the cause. Added incentive is that these potential voters are all on Facebook already and thus immediately voter eligible.
If this plea has not been given to all or our hyper-local and regional media, a quick press release could result in a still wider range of potential voters.
Ask for support from local clubs/organizations in the immediate area, especially service organizations and organizations with regional, national, or international membership.
Get the HS and college students who work with the Rescue Squad to get the word out at their own school and encourage students/teachers/administrators/parents, etc. to get out the vote.
See if the Maplewood and South Orange municipalities will send out an e-mail blast to their subscribers advising of the opportunity to help the rescue squad.
Maplewood First Aid Squad will be at Mayfest this coming Sunday (day before Memorial Day) ask if they will either spread the word for you or allow a Rescue Squad member to be at their location telling passersby about the grant and the need for public support.

We save our residents approximately $1,040,000 per year in medical fees charged by for-profit EMS agencies by continuing our mission of never charging for ambulance transportation and treatment.
