@boomie -- have you tried the Nia classes? Those sound interesting too (barefoot -- that's my style).

It is NOT strenuous at all. It's the most relaxing, pampering 1.5 hours you can ever imagine.
OK, based on your recommendation, I'll audit a class and see how it goes. I am in sore (literally) need of relaxing and pampering. Thanks!
Restorative Yoga is incredible! I'm glad you are going to try that class. Debra Bernath is incredible. You will love her.

Also @PurpleMonkeyDshwashr I hear wonderful things about Courtney Centrelli's 7:45pm Vinyasa class, which is on the schedule next week. I've been sticking to prenatal but that's on my list to try after baby!!

If you visit ShaktiNJ.com and click on "Yoga" in the menu bar and select Schedule, it will bring up this week's schedule. At the top there is an arrow for Next Week. You can click ahead several weeks, though perhaps @ShaktiYoga can confirm how far in advance this is accurate.

Thank you @ShaktiYoga! I will try to check out the Sunday community class.

@shakti -- I am so mad at myself for not knowing you had all these other services (as I said above, about Debra's shiatsu practice) for the last 6+ years I've lived here!!! But I'm glad I know now. :-D

@ShaktiYoga, what are your thoughts on modifying poses if one finds oneself in a class or a movement that is too strenuous or painful? I have always tried to listen to my body in every class and either modified (using blocks, straps, or blankets), slowed down, or just took child's pose if needed (while continuing to breathe, of course!). 99% of the time I have found instructors to be supportive and accepting in these situations when my body was suffering from one ailment or another. (The one exception was a very stringent Bikram teacher who commanded me to get out of child's pose and either sit up straight or lie on my back, neither of which was a helpful option due to lower back pain. He was rather mean about it. I send him my most loving and compassionate vibes.)
What say you, wise yogis?

Apologies for not reading through this thread in detail but: Would love to know if you have any "mom + kid" yoga classes that would be offered in the early evening or on weekends. Thanks.

PurpleMonkeyDshwashr, this Sunday's Community Class (by donation) at 7pm on April 27 is All Levels Vinyasa with Varitta Siryon. We have offered evening vinyasa classes in the past but we've a few scheduling changes. I will check to see if we can make this happen. Thank you for your feedback!
