Sexual Predators - A Bi-Partisan Problem

Franken was an entertainer at the time, not a statesman so basically this is just another entertainer behaving badly. That is not an excuse just for me a little perspective. I have come to expect that entertainers are largely aholes.

I have never worked for a large corporation so I would defer to those who have.

If the CEO were found to have engaged in consensual oral sex with a 20 year old intern on the premises how would the Board react?

If it were today and the board was all men I’m not sure how they would react.  If it were all men and it was 92 or so, it would be high fives all around.

She was 22 and a government employee. It is unclear to me whether the affair started when she was an intern or after she became a paid employee.

Lewinsky’s internship, extended until her job in the White House Office of Legislative Affairs officially started, still had about a week to go when, according to her testimony, the first sexual encounter occurred.

Bill Clinton is a scumbag but the problem with your post is that, if he was a Republican, you would be his most ardent supporter.  You never met a conservative rapist, pedophile or abuser of women to whom you did not pledge your eternal loyalty, be they a priest, a pundit or a President.

Deplorable Hypocrisy!

I'm so glad I stopped reading the Rose Garden thread. It was really starting to get me down.

Seriously. The smart money was on DJT's ignoring the Franken thing for fear of raising his own predation...then again, the smart money was on HRC's presidency.

Our tribalism is a natural outgrowth of the successful 40-year-old conservative program to supplant all sources of legitimate authority with their alternate-reality version of it.

From the Federalist Society to Fox News to Breitbart and now, amazingly enough, Infowars - we've got a critical mass of Americans who live their political lives in a complete fantasy - a fantasy that always comes around to hatred of  liberals -i.e. anyone who doesn't follow their fantasy.

We're in a very bad place right now - and we're not moving in the right direction yet.

Cognitive dissonance is a physically affecting thing for our brains, not just a mental state:

For some people, it really is too hard or too painful to try being open to new or balanced thinking.
