Forgive me for asking, but where is the World Trade Center Moument?

The Township received a piece of steel from the WTC which is now located in front of the Hilton Branch of the library. Our Public Works crew built the stone monument which houses the steel piece and a local landscaper, Brickman, did the plantings and pathway.

Flyer attached

There are a plethora of local events commemorating the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Studio B will have a sing-in , email chain letters and facebook statuses are encouraging Americans to fly the flag on 9/11 and there will be a "walk of hope and courage" on 9/11, from Morrow Church on Ridgewood Rd to St Josephs on Prospect.

All of this is good and fitting -but I'd like to suggest something more tangible. Tens of thousands of American servicemen have been gravely injured in Iraq and Afganistan since 9/11. The sacrifices of those truly courageous men and women and those of their families continue to this day. Tragically, they receive little support from the government or the public.

There are two organizations that provide crucial support and services to many of those brave men and women, The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund and The Wounded Warrior project.

So, after you raise the flag or participate in the "walk of courage" or in one of many memorial services, I implore you do do something that may really make a difference - donate to one of these charities to help some of the men and women who have sacrificed so much for us.

is there more info on the walk from Morrow to St. Joseph's?

Eire:

According to a posting on FB (SOMA on FOOT), the walk begins at 12 noon at Morrow Church. Likely route is Baker Street to Valley Street to Tuscan Road to Prospect Street to St Jospeh's Church.

Does anyone know how many people from Maplewood we lost that day at World Trade ?
