Saturday in Ithaca

College age daughter and her mom will have all day Saturday to enjoy while son is busy with an activity. What can we do and/or where should we eat? Ideas welcome

Visit the falls? Eat at Moosewood ( vegetarian)?

Check out the gorges, go to Buttermilk Falls, and eat at Moosewood. The Farmer's Maket is awesome! If you aren't into hiking, perhaps a wine tour would be nice.

I very much enjoyed dong this planet walk - but I'm a bit nerdy, so it might not appeal to many people.

What types of things do they like to do? If they like the outdoors they can go to Buttermilk Falls, Taughannock Falls, Treman State Park. Farmers' Market if it's a Saturday. You can walk around Cornell, take a tour of Cornell Plantations or Cornell Ornithology Lab. Walk around downtown Ithaca, on the Ithaca Commons. Walk around Collegetown. Have lunch at Collegetown Bagels.

Purity Ice Cream. It's in downtown Ithaca. I heard they just did complete renovation.

Boy am I getting homesick! You can also walk up the steps of the clock tower on Cornell's campus when they play the chimes. There as specific times of day, but now that classes are over there, I'm not sure what the deal is with that.

A new ethiopian place just opened downtown that I'm dying to try. Taughanock Falls is a nice easy walk to see and the park is on the western side of cayuga lake. Sometimes the vet school has tours where you can see the animals, but that depends on the timing of the visit. Cornell Dairy also makes awesome ice cream!

The farmer's market is lovely on the weekends and you can get a nice lunch there from several different stands. Moosewood would be a great place for dinner. or if they go to Taughanock Falls state park, the Taughanock Inn used to be really lovely and has a pretty view of the lake.
