Road repairs

Maplewood’s streets are a mess, potholes everywhere… I thought after the winter we had that they would fix them once the weather warmed. Tired of having to swerve to avoid them. It’s like they fix a sidewalk at a time.

Did you receive the alert from the town stating that PSE&G is now in the process of digging up our streets to install new gas lines?  Not the best time to be making road repairs.

 Well, this issue isn’t a new one. Maplewood streets have been on the decline for YEARS. This PSE&G is basically a new excuse. 

The good news is that whichever streets are affected by the PSE&G repairs will be repaved by them right away. Just went through this in Millburn. The bad news is that if PSE&G only has to do work on one side of the street they only repave that one side (tat is what happened on my street). It was a frustrating process with roads blocked on and off for 6 months but many of the streets look great now.

Midland near Boyden just got repaved after their months of PSE&G work. Also got a few new sidewalks. Lost a couple trees though.
