Revis a Jet again

Five years. 70 million.

All that winning must have been exhausting.

I'll take it. But get me a goddamn QB.

They need another corner a qb and an rb. Their wide outs will be friggin amazing with a decent qb.

Word is Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Quarterbacks do not just fall into your lap. I would rather a stop gap than spend a high pick on someone like Mariota who is just the type of successful college quarterback who never makes it big in the NFL.

I think they should take a QB later and see if you can get lucky, especially if they trade their #1 pick for multiple picks. Maybe Garrett Grayson, though his star has been raising some and he may not make it out of the second round and the Jets current second round is too high to use on him. But third or later I would think the upside is there.

The Rams just got Foles and gave them Bradford. They get significant cap freedom and better picks. I think the Eagles got fleeced.

Gotta give Revis credit. He will have made a boatload of money by the time his career is over.
He will retire as one of the highest paid defensive players of all-time.

The Jets at best will be 8 and 8 next year. This a QB driven league and the Jets simply don't have a quality QB.

Good for Revis . Somehow the NFL got you to be the bad guy if you take all the money . I haven't heard of any talk of a " cap " on ticket prices . I think Mariota will be a great QB . If he falls to sixth the Jets will be very lucky . Unless they get tempted to trade the 6th to NO for Drew Brees .

Agreed. I saw this and that was my initial reaction.

Bradford has played before under the Eagles' offensive coordinator, in his rookie year, and it was also his best year in the pros. So maybe Kelly knows something we don't.

But Bradford tore his ACL for the second straight season last year, and that is a whole lot more suspect than Foles' broken collar bone which likely will not happen again.

Foles did pretty well under the Kelly uptempo offense, and I don't know how Bradford will fare there. On the other hand, it made Mark Sanchez look like a decent QB, so perhaps the system is more important than the QB. They just re-signed Sanchez for a two year deal as well.

The main problem for the Eagles, as you note, is that Bradford gets $13 million, while Foles is still under his rookie contract at around $1.5 million. Plus the Rams get better picks along with Foles and if Bradford is healthy and takes 50% of the snaps, the Eagles get no picks (the less he plays, the better the pick they get).

I wonder if the Eagles are planning on unloading Bradford to someone else as part of a package to get a higher first round draft pick so they can go after Mariota? Would Tampa Bay or the Jets be willing to bite o this if enough picks and players were included along with Bradford?

In what I think is a smart move, the Jets are keeping season ticket prices flat in 2015.

I think I agree. You telling me Bob Kraft couldn't come up with another $4M in guaranteed money for one of the best corners in football? Then again, the Patriots have managed to be competitive for 15 consecutive years by refusing to deviate from the script - no matter how talented the free agent.

They went to the AFC Championship game with Sanchez twice. If you have a solid defense, a strong offensive line and a running back you can absolutely be a playoff team with a mediocre quarterback.

Seattle has shown it does not always have to be about the offence.

The Patriots have some cap issues.

They certainly are not giving much to get him. At best a 6th round pick in 16 which would be a 7th if he sucks.

There is only one Patriot #12 . Everybody else is a hired hand. Including the blond spoted with Kraft. There is something very wrong with the salary cap in the NFL when you cut people like Butch Wilford.

Well, better him than Bradford! He knows Chan Gailey's offense, if that means anything. Did pretty well in Buffalo in terms of stats.

BTW , Seattle just got MUCH better. Jimmy Graham is a monster , they can now play action to Lynch and you can't bite because there's a 6'8" guy with hands behind you or Wilson can just keep it and boot. Thats the last SB they are going to lose on the one.

Fitzpatrick sucks but is he an upgrade from Geno Smith. Uh, yeah.

The Jets are not Seattle. Geno/Fitzpatrick/Mariota are no where near as good as Wilson. The Jets don't have a quality running back like Seattle's Lynch or the Jet's previous tag team of Tomlinson and Thomas. They've had great defenses under Rex, but without an offense they aren't going far. Marshall and Decker will only be effective if you can get them the ball. The Pats will sweep the Jets and take the division.

It certainly is back to the future for the Jets.

well i guess we don;t get demarco murray.

But Cromartie is back.

Is Brett Favre available?

We're getting the band back together!

Hey, if it didn't work before it'll certainly work now that everyone is a little older.

It did work before. 2 straight appearances in the AFC Championship.

"AFC Championship game appearance" ribbon.
