Recycling 1/21/19?

It is a holiday. It will be cold. But still wondering?

DPW site doesn't include MLK Day as a holiday.  I find it odd that Memorial Day and Labor Day ALWAYS fall on a Monday and that Thanksgiving NEVER falls on a Monday but anyhoo...

Curbside recycling will be collected EVERY Monday for the entire town.

If any of the following Holidays fall on a Monday: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, collections will be on the Tuesday after the Holiday.  For any other Holiday (not listed) that falls on Monday, collections will remain on Monday. In order to ensure recyclable items are collected, please be sure to place them curbside the evening before the scheduled collection.

Thanksgiving.     snake

Yes, they came by real early today.

Do you think they did all of Maplewood? Many containers were down but still filled with stuff. Would they have left these behind?

They could still be picking up.  They came by my house about an hour earlier than usual.

Normally I would say they are definitely still in town, but after driving through town I am not so sure.  There weren't many cans out at the curb, and the ones that were out were all empty.

So its quite possible they are finished and out of town by now.

For what it is worth, my can was laying on its side and they picked it up.  All depends on what crew does your street, some crews will grab everything and even pick up what they drop.  Other crews will leave everything and throw the cans back to the curb.

Just spoke with Calvin Bell at Public Works Dept. to tell him recycling on my block was not picked up yesterday.  I told him I don't think the entire town was picked up and he indicated he had heard from others as well.  He was going to contact the company to have them come pick up on my block today.

If you didn't get a pick up yesterday you should call Public works @ (973) 762-1175.  With the wind it was a struggle yesterday to have the recycling out with bins being blown over and contents spilling out.

This town-wide Email was sent out last night.
