Really Unique Gift Idea-Chocolate

there is this kiosk in the Menlo Mall selling some pretty cool handcrafted chocolate. The shapes are really beautiful and so unique. The chocolate itself was very good- mostly a rich dark chocolate (they have a few items in milk or white). Just passing on in case anyone’s looking for an interesting holiday gift. I had never seen anything like it anywhere else.

Two lovely ladies over from Italy working the kiosk. They said their website will take orders again after Christmas.

I also bought this gun shaped one for a person who collects old guns (not my thing but the chocolate design is pretty cool)

This is pretty cool. Might take a drive later...

Did you happen to notice if that they had any musically themed stuff?

ETA - I see from the web site they do.

I’m not sure they did at the mall. They had a section with make up and perfume bottles. A section with guns, knives, skulls. Lots of tools. Then a hair section with stuff like hairdresser scissors, hair clips. And a food section where you could build a box that looked like various cheeses or wine accessories. The stuff was beautiful and I’ve never seen anything like it.

they had a booth at Bridgewater mall today.

it made me wonder how they picked which malls to come to.

I went to Menlo and bought gifts for 3 people. Amazing stuff.

thanks for the heads up conandrob!

There is one, or one like it, at the Livingston Mall. I think I'll take a closer look!

Well, that would certainly be more convenient. Let us know what you find. I might have to get more.

I’m going back to get more tomorrow too. I hesitated only because I don’t think the rest of the family likes dark chocolate but honestly, those are so beautiful, I want everyone to get a piece as a fun Christmas even gift for us all to open together.

fairly reasonable I thought. The gun is solid dark chocolate and probably about 5 inches long at $10. The set of tools (pliers, wrench, nail) was around $14 or $15. You can build a nice little box for $15-20

They're in Livingston Mall also, though they were closed when I got there at 7:15pm.

I thought prices were reasonable, and I'm a cheap f***. I bought a teapot for $35, but the smaller items like the wrench or hammer were in the $10 + or - range. They had smaller pieces as low as $5 I think. You build your own collection of objects and then they box them the way you want, so you can customize it.

I'm really taken with this place because looking at their display in many ways throws me back to my Italian-American childhood. The company is Italian, as were the saleswomen, and then there is a definite Italian sensibility to the whole thing. The display of piles of tools and tool-ish doodads reminds me of my father's workshop of old, well-worn tools. I mean there was a pair of shears which looked identical to one that we owned. (Dad was a gardener, and I was the young assistant, so gardening tools loomed large for me.) I'm giving it to my older brother - I'll be curious as to what his reaction will be.

Ravioli and a soppresata and even a ravioli cutter remind me of my mom.

I think I'm in TMI territory...

No, very sweet! (I'm glad I was correct about seeing it at Livingston.
