Rank your top 5 Walt Disney World attractions for kids over 40 inches (but under 44)

Taking the little Lankies to WDW for the first time. As I am a bit of a planning freak and I know there can be long lines, I am looking to get FastPasses planned for key attractions. What do people here suggest?

Here is a link to what's available (but you'll have to log in to view):

When are you going? What parks are you visiting? This can really make a difference as you think about fast passes.

At the Magic Kingdom (for a first visit, with only height as a consideration), we typically fast pass Peter Pan (classic ride, CRAZY line), Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain. Elsa and Anna are a must if you have girls, but you have to be online right away or really keep checking. Some might also do Seven Dwarfs Mine Train instead, but I think the ride is quite short and Thunder and Splash are better...

For Hollywood Studios, absolutely fast pass Toy Story Midway Mania as your Tier 1. After that, alot depends on when you go and what your child likes. Thrill ride that's good is Tower of Terror, but some small children don't like it (my 4.5 yo did fine). Frozen Sing a Long, but I think it depends on when you're there (may not be needed). Star Tours could be another good one. I personally tend not to fast pass shows, but if you're going during the busiest season, it can make it much easier.

For Animal Kingdom, if you're not going to the park for opening (and going straight to the safari; which is what we do), you can fast pass the safari. Dinosaur can be a good use of Fast Pass in the busy season (if your child likes Dinos) but it is very scary (loud and dark). We also usually get a Kali River Rapids FP but be prepared to get wet! AK is also a good place to FP Mickey and Minnie...

Finally Epcot, I think is the hardest, bc you have to pick between Soarin' and Test Track. Pick whichever one sounds most appealing to you (for a boy, I recommend Test Track) and if you really want to do the other one, try to get there when it opens and go right to the other ride. If it's busy you could FP Nemo and/or Turtle Talk. But really, again, take your pick of the tier twos... Often you don't fast passes for any of them.

Happy to provide more guidance if helpful. We visit WDW often... LOL

Thanks much. We're doing Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios next weekend. Some of the allotted FastPasses are already sold out - thanks for the rapids tip - that's one of our fastpasses and we'll wear swimtrunks perhaps that day.

I agree, what your kids are interested in makes a huge difference. For example, this has nothing to do with FastPass, but one of the biggest highlights of the trip was my son doing the Jedi Training at Hollywood Studios. If you want to do that, you need to get to the park when it opens and go immediately to the signup - and the participating child has to be with you!

In Magic Kingdom, Peter Pan was one of our favorites and definitely worth a FP because the line can be pretty long. We also used a FP for a princess meet & greet (Cinderella/Sleeping Beauty), the race car track thing and Winnie-The-Pooh. We did not need one for Buzz Lightyear but my son loved that one and we did it a bunch of times.
