railroad work till September 6th?

fellow commuters, please advise. I used to take the 5:15 express train home from NY penn to Maplewood, but apparently this train will not be stopping in Maplewood, and will be stopping in south orange until sept 6th. Cant seem to find much on this on NJT website. anyone familiar w whats going on, have any advice?

Thanks,

rookie commuter

If you are right....you will not be the only one who is stuck, see if you can carpool.

If you can afford it you can Huber it.

Iirc, that train was one of the more crowded trains?  If so, try reaching out to the town about having the jitney pick up the commuters on that train at the S.O. train station.

Just throwing ideas out there.

The "until September 6th" indicates that this is the reason for the change:

For specific information on impact to M&E trains, check this link

https://www.njtransit.com/inform/mne.html

In addition to the canceled and rerouted trains listed at this link, some changes can be expected in stops made by trains that continue to operate.  For further information on your particular situation, ask the Customer Service personnel at New York Penn Station.  Your alternatives are:  commuting through Hoboken, taking a different pm train (one that stops at Maplewood), detraining at SO in the pm and getting home from there, or taking PATH to Newark Penn Station and a local bus to Maplewood.

if you follow the links Joan posted, the schedule indicates that the 515 from Penn still stops in Maplewood
