I bought a $50 one off Amazon to use for the same reasons as you - but for photography - have not used it yet.
If a sufficiently sized TV is available, and you have a PC laptop available, just get an HDMI cable and select the TV as your monitor.
Good Luck

I have the HDMI cable, and that solved the most recent issue (though it took us 15 min to figure out how to set up the TV as the monitor). However, a TV is not always available, so I am still looking for a digital projector.
I have bought a few over the years; you probably want to have a floor of around $350, and the last one I bought was around $600 and it is INSANELY good.
This is the most recent purchase - I like Viewsonic, though Epson projectors are great as well. I've purchased $100 units for Halloween projections and I have to say.... eh. You get what you pay for.

I do a lot of talks to garden clubs, orchid societies, etc. While most have a projector, some do not, and in one case I arrived to find out that their projector had just failed.
I am looking to buy one as back-up. It needs to be adequate for presentations to groups ranging from 15 to perhaps as many as 50-60 people. But, I do not want to spend more than absolutely necessary on something I might never use.
On Amazon, I have seen models ranging from $49 to $24K, but outside of Epson & Sony, I do not recognize any of the manufacturer names.
