Pocono vacation during Spring Break - non-waterpark

Thinking of heading to a resort in the Poconos for a few days during break with our 14 year old. We've been looking at Malibu Dude Ranch, Skytop Lodge, Fernwood and Split Rock. Does anyone have opinions on any of these places?

Our grandsons (ages 5 and 10) love the Kalahari Water Park Resort.

I don't have info re any of the specific places you mentioned.

we are looking into this too. The big water park resorts (Kalahari, great wolf and camelback) come in around $650/nt after fees and taxes. That seems insane!

kitaba, I can't help you out with an opinion on any of those resorts but conandrob, you can choose to rent from a nice selection of nearby private homes and condos for less than what you quoted. Camelback Realty is a reputable agency/management company and they provide comp tickets to Aquatopia and whatever Camelback attractions that are open at the time of your stay (e.g. tubing, skiing, mountain adventure, outdoor waterpark) so it's actually a great deal. Google www.Camelbackresortrentals.com to browse all the available properties.

Wow! Great info. Thank you! I see a really nice 3 bedroom house we'd like. Are the Aquatopia tickets automatic? good for one day (we'd stay 2-3 nights) What other tickets to you get?

Skytop is a lovely grand hotel with excellent food. Beautiful grounds, lots to do in the winter (they have their own ski hill and ice rink). Not sure what the activities are in spring other than golf, the indoor pool is small. When we were there (5 plus years ago), the rooms were a little "tired" but fine. We enjoyed our stay, I would go back.

You can try Woodloch. I have never been, but hear it is great, but may be expensive depending on your budget.

Conandrob, best to give them a call to find out for sure. We just started renting out our home there in February because our children are grown so we don't use it as vigorously as we used to. The managing agents say the comp tix are a big plus.

it seems like it would be a huge boost to those rentals. If you want to send the link to your house, I'll take a look. They all look quite similar!
