Please Support People For Animals

I'm re-posting this from a Nextdoor post I just read. Several compelling reasons for People For Animals to get the lease for 298 Walton Ave:
Please attend the S.O. Board of Trustee Meeting this Monday, Dec. 12th at 7:30pm where the decision of the lease of 298 Walton Ave. will be determined.
Please speak up in support of People For Animals(PFA), a very reputable organization that would use the space responsibly and humanely. They would provide low- cost neuter/ spay and hold lost/ stray pets/ animals for the 7- day period. If not claimed, would adopt or send to no-kill rescues. This site was originally built for this purpose because the 2 towns saw a need and it solved the required NJ state law to provide animal control, which includes a 7- day holding facility.
Unfortunately, it wasn't run properly and was closed down in 03/2014. To date, S.O. has not been able to secure an acceptable alternative.
In fact, the other 6 shelters in Essex Cty do not offer humane treatment of animals.
This property is situated where our S.O DPW is; an ideal area where it does not interfere with a residential neighborhood. When run properly, it would be less trafficked with no hardship to a neighborhood. And plans for the River Greenway Project were incorporated back then- to still run behind the wooded area to Mplwd.
Let's be responsible and be the voices for our pets/ animals.
