Parking at Newark Penn Station

How much available parking is there around Newark Penn Station around 7 am on weekdays? And are the Amtrak D.C. bound trains packed when they arrive there? This would not be around the Inauguration, just asking about normal commuting days.

Don't know if the trains are packed but there are several large parking lots between Penn and The Prudential Center.

I take the NE Corridor trains from Newark Penn early and can tell you what I have observed: at 6:30-7:00am, the DC bound trains have a decent amount of people on them, but I wouldn't say they were packed... You might not get a seat/table to yourself though. As far as parking goes, there is plenty both in front and behind Penn.

Took the Amtrak out of Newark Penn Saturday morning to Providence, very convenient. However, we took an uber to the the station. Cheaper than parking the car there.
