outdoor antenna/wannabe cord-cutter

Can anyone recommend an expert tv antenna guy/gal?  i've finally convinced my husband to cut the cable cord and despite checking that my neighborhood should get excellent antenna signal - i'm only picking up one major network .  Now this could be because of antenna placement, antenna hook-up or the antenna itself...??!!!  do i need a booster?! what is a booster?!  my handy man did the installation & he's definitely no expert in this area.  & i know very little... clearly.  Does anybody have a guy?  or consider themselves an expert?  i'm desperate to get it sorted before my husband defects to team Verizon! thanks in advance
