Love the shot of the flying Cormorant!
I recognized the butterfly weed and butterfly bush. The butterfly bushes that I have planted around my land must send out written invitations, as I have noticed a more unusual selection of butterflies lately. I have also been watching bees drinking from the birdbaths. Until I read about it I assumed they simply drank nectar.

My sincere apologies to the plant world. Asclepias Tuberosa. Sorry, I lost my head.

Oh that's okay Morganna, I was actually reacting to FormallyJerseyJack...
I like to have a variety of plants (some bought and some volunteers) in the yard. It's a small area but varied. Part mowed lawn (mostly for kids to run) and part fruit and veggie gardens, hosta hills, 'wild' patches, and butterfly bushes (which seem to attract a fair share of bees too)

We have a weed collection to attract butterflies. A couple of photos are of potted plants.
The flying bird is a Cormorant.
