No parking on Valley St? Maplewood

Disregard, *someone* didn't read the sign.  Writing the check as we speak

I believe the state regulations are that signs to regulate parking are to be every 100 ft. and in good repair.

The other day I parked on Valley by the Hammond building, 515 Valley St.  There were no signs saying this was illegal.  Other cars were parked there.
Today my husband parked at the same location for physical therapy.  He received a parking ticket that says "No stopping or standing."  He is going to contest it, but it is really a pain in the butt that now he has to waste a day to go to court for something he didn't do.
Has that location changed?

Don't know how much that ticket costs.............but be aware that Maplewood rents out the Court

time and Judge........somehow to surrounding towns whose cases are heard first.  Spent three hours

sitting and waiting one time to have our case heard.

Sometimes a call to Town Hall and an explanation can bring about an easy dismissal.

It had proper signage. Completely guilty, am paying the ticket, and next time he will use the lot instead of parking on the street

I've never heard that one.

Maplewood and South Orange have a shared court system. For a parking violation, your time with the judge is determined by your place in the line in the lobby, not which town you live in. That said, the judge will first hear more serious matters where one or both parties are represented by a judge. Then the parking/traffic stuff is heard, in order determined by your place in the line.

To discuss, you would not call "Town Hall," but the clerk's office at the court.

Event happened to us. Citizens of the other Oranges and there a lot of them had their cases heard first.  Our time ,  six man hours,  was worth more than the potential fine.

I complained here on MOL about a ticket I got in a Maplewood parking lot years ago with my tongue in cheek, I mean, the nerve of them to expect me to read a sign! No one else does!

Well, he had sent me a text complaining of getting a ticket.  I knew I had parked there the other day, though it was at a different time.  I asked him if there were any signs, and he swore there weren't, only one that said no parking 2am to 6am.  When I made him go there to take pictures so we could dispute the ticket, he realized he hadn't read the entire sign before parking...  question
