Ya gotta love it.  The guy has his picture taken with Chris Christie and he is embarrassed by Robert Menendez?  Talk about the pot and the kettle.

Is there any hope of a primary challenger for Menendez?  I was happy that Christie didn't get to appoint a replacement but the guy is a living illustration of the difference between "innocent" and "not guilty". I'll vote for him if I have to but I would love to vote for someone with slightly less generous "friends".

I'm more bothered by Menendez's terrible neocon record on surveillance and civil liberties than I am by his friends.

Menendez has the support of the Democratic Party bosses. There is not a credible Primary challenger and I doubt there will be one.

The fact that no Republican office holder is seeking the nomination to oppose Menendez means that none of them see him as vulnerable.

In the current atmosphere the last person anyone should be promoting as a candidate is a drug company executive.

I am capable of being irritated on multiple fronts.  

Perhaps I am being a little too persnickety.  I'd just like to vote for someone instead of always having to vote against their opponent.

This is largely because the GOP is completely broken.  The Democratic nominees simply have to show up and not be Republicans.

Any Republican victory in 2018 is a victory for Trump and therefore is to be avoided.

It is a choice between bad and worse.  Ultimately, we cannot give Trump another seat in the senate. I wish there was another viable Democrat.
