I actually purchased the truck in Texas and, on the off chance that the Texas DMV might have a copy of the title, I called them this morning. They did not have a copy which is a shame as the woman on the phone told me that, if they did, they could have it to me in about a week.
Texas: NO STATE INCOME TAX, Property tax for $500,000 house= $8,000
New Jersey: FOURTH HIGHEST INCOME TAX IN THE COUNTRY! Property tax for $500,000 house= $17,000
Something is definitely wrong.

so why did you move to NJ?
Sometimes I wonder.
I am pretty clear on why I am moving to Canada.
I mean I am in NJ due to job and family but need an exit strategy to get away. If I could stand the cold winters I would love Canada, but more likely to find me on Myrtle Beach or something.
I am disabled. I need a parking placard. there is one place that the HC parking is the ONLY parking unless I walk about 5 blocks (unless I luck out and get a nearby street spot). I can barely get out of the house. I honestly only use it when I really need it. I prefer to park further back so I can pull through an empty spot to be facing out when I leave. Sent the renewal application 3 months prior to expiration. The sent me a placard with 2 months punched instead of a month and year...took weeks of fighting with them to correct it.....there is no specific procedure for replacing one they screwed up, so I went with the replacing a damaged placard.....sent them a letter saying since they sent me a piece of sh!t, i shoved it where it belong and it got lost....
3 years ago, they sent me someone elses paperwork.
I am blind in 1 eye. Doc signed a form glasses NOT needed because they don't help...DMV marked it as glasses needed. actually stamped it as 'glasses not needed' but drew a thin line in matching ink through the 'not'. it just looked like a smear....i didn't even notice...i could have gotten a ticket. fixed the permit, but then they marked my license glasses needed.
there's another incident I am forgetting now...
Sorry. NJ doesn’t have a DMV. It has an MVC. Perhaps therein lies OP’s problem.
maybe you have something stuck up your A and you need a pool size enema and that is therein your problem lies (based on a number of your comments)
......in my case, some of it happened while it was DMV....

So, my family and I have finally arrived in our new home in Alberta, Canada. Part of the moving process involves importing our vehicles and for that I need the title for my 13 year old pickup. For whatever reason, I couldn't find the original title so I sent in an application for a duplicate at the end of June.
Having not received the title, I called this morning to check on its status. The woman on the phone told me that they were only, at this time, processing applications from LATE MAY and that I should call back in a month to check on the status.
