A superintendent specifically for Maplewood? Exciting indeed.

Why not. We pay our taxes.

Always good to have a good super. Especially if they know plumbing.

Not a moment too soon.

The BOE took their sweet time.  The new super will have minimal time to overlap with Ficarra.

The society which scorns excellence in plumbing as a humble activity and tolerates shoddiness in philosophy because it is an exalted activity will have neither good plumbing nor good philosophy: neither its pipes nor its theories will hold water.

Always good to have a good gardner. Especially if they know pruning.

Sounds like a great guy.

WILLINGBORO, N.J. -- The Willingboro School District has received attention recently for a controversial policy that requires cafeteria workers tothrow away a child's lunch if he or she does not have enough money in the account that pays for it.

that didn't take long.  You jump back six years and find something negative.  Did you even bother to look for anything positive, or even think about seeing how he does?  You are so negative about things.

must think happy thoughts.

I dug around too....saw significant positives, as well as a few concerns that I didn’t think merited discussion.

I am living in hope that he will be the hire we need, after too many troubles.  Won’t be able to tell for quite a while, of course.

When it comes to the school district and the BOE, I have very little patience. I’ve lived here a long time and seen a lot of really stupid stuff go down.

I hope the new Superintendent is successful. Our district desperately needs that. However, the BOE has made a series of very bad decisions and many of our problems are self-inflicted. I don’t trust the BOE to manage our district well. Two of its members chose not to vote on his appointment.  Whatever the reason might be for that, it’s probably not good.

If we all hold virtual hands and think about rainbows and puppy dogs, it’ll all work out.
